Hypothesis
I believe that the cotton, glass and the dead leaves will biodegrade the fastest because all of these things came from the ground. Like the cotton, it grows in fields, cotton fields, the glass is made up from sand and the dead leaves come from a tree which grows in the ground.

Purpose

I wanted to find out what will shrink into our enviroment the fastest.
Materials

  • paper,
  • cans,
  • cotton,
  • dead leaves,
  • sticks,
  • plastic cups,
  • glass, cardboard,
  • clear plastic,
  • styrafoam
  • bread,
  • apples,
  • a pear,
  • a banana and a orange,
  • a spoon,
  • recycling bin and
  • some dirt.
Procedure

I  went out in the back yard to get some dirt.I put all of my materials in different places in my bin . My mom  told me to put the bin on the porch. After school I check on my project. It still looks the same when I look at it.
Results

I realized that the paper is biodegrading the fastest. I started off with a half piece of paper. It ended up to be a corner of the paper. The stiarphome, glass, and can are still the same when I put it in. It didn`t biodegrade.
Conclusion

I believe that the cotton, glass and the dead leaves will biodegrade the fastest because all of these things came from the ground. Like the cotton, it grows in fields, cotton fields, the glass is made up from sand and the dead leaves come from a tree which grows in the ground.
