Hypothesis
We think that the bean plant in the soil will grow best because beans are strong growing plants and soil is a good growing environment.
Purpose

We wanted to know which environment was best for growing plants.
Materials

 6 Squash seeds
 6 Bean seeds
  6 Corn seeds
  6 Pea seeds
     Water
  Planting soil
 Sand
  Gravel
  East sunlight
Procedure

 1.Buy supplies
2.Put sand ,soil and gravel into the plastic cups
3.Put each different seed in to its respective cups with the different environments being either soil, sand or gravel
4. Water the plants once every 4 days about .25 cups
5. Put all of the plants in the East sun
6. Record results every week and  graph the results
7.Draw conclusions.
Results
The bean in sand, soil, and in gravel ended up with nothing at all.
The corn in the soil grew 4.5 inches, the corn in the sand grew 0 inches and the corn in the gravel grew .5 of an inch.  The squash in the soil  grew 3 inches, the squash in the sand grew 2.5 inches and the squash in the gravel grew 0 inches.  The pea in sand and gravel didnít grow at all, but the pea in the soil grew 5 inches.
Conclusion
The plants in the soil grew the most and the best  so the soil is the best environment for plant growth even though to our surprise, sand and gravel produced plants.
